Obama delegate fired for calling black kids monkeys.

This story is an example of how crazy this whole racism in america thing is. Heres the story how i understand it.

A woman who is a delegate and some kind of low level electee in carpenterville, Ill looks out her house window and se's some kids playing in her tree. She gets mad and yells at them to stop playing around in the tree like monkeys. They get out of the tree and then go tell their momma. The momma comes back banging on the lady door talking about why did you call my kids some monkeys? Must be because they are black the mother is thinking. The lady Maria gonzalez slewinski (or something like that) says no that isn't what i meant i actually said monkeys because thats what monkeys do, they pay in trees. I don't know one way or the other what she meant but somehow the Obama campaign found out and booted her from the campaign. They asked her to step down and she agreed to and also will not seek re-election to her post in carpenterville. What if she did not mean anything by it? We are starting to do the same thing to white people did to us. We are better than that.

JAy Z said it best. An eye for an eye we both lose our sight and 2 wrongs don't make it right. But when you been wronged and you know all along that its just one life, at what point does one fight?

Is this overkill? I mean maybe she did not mean it racially, but then again you never know. And from my experience most hispanics don't particularly care for black folks, we just thought they did for a good many years. I can see where it could have gone either way. So chime in and let me know what you think. Racial or over-blown interpretation. Cause some times we do be looking for some stuuff that ain't really there. And ain't Obama supposed to be above all that race card _ss stuff?

Husla3x comments: Dam white people (hispanics kinda white also) when you going to learn that you need to be careful how you talk to black folks? Anything you ever used to hurt, harm, humiliate ar kill blacks with in the past is off limits in conversations. Its allot of work but not as much as you put into making them objects of hate in the first place. Boy, monkey, noose, negro, nigger, well spoken, all that is off limits when addressing black folks. DUH!! White folks you have to first admit you are sometimes wrong to ever truly be sorry, thats why all this crap is still happening. We trying to get past it but white superior attitudes won't let us. You are the spark that keeps the racism flame burning. Truth.

Funny Story: I was in family dollar and i needed to buy some crackers and could not find them. I go up to the guy who work there (white) and ask him where the crackers were. I started laughing because thats funny when you think about it, asking a white person where the crackers are. Anyway he get really pissed and ask me what i mean by that or am i trying to be funny. I tell him naw, i'm trying to be eating. Anyway this guy did not apreciate the humor of the situation and almost got mollywhopped. Was i wrong for finding that funny. I did not mean to laugh but it was funny and i am grown. You got to admit that thats funny. Hell i don't get mad when bosses ask me whats up with a black guy at work like we all know each other. Some chit is just going to be coincidentally racial. Anyway is Obama over doing it? Let me know in comments below.

At least she didn't use the word "niggardly," a word that always makes me chuckle.

    Blacks are hopeless.

I am a cracker, and given my sodium levels probably a saltine. Anyway, I will grant you your point that whites should be careful when useing words that have been used in the past to foster hate.

However, I think it is a good sign that someone can use one of those words and not mean anything by it, other than stop acting like monkeys. I remember my grandma saying the same thing to me. Although I rural utah, not a lot of racial issues, due to the lack of anything but whites.

Secondly, If you call every white person that does something racist, it pretty much lessens the legitimate claims. Kinda like the boy who cried wolf.

She knew EXACTLY!!! What she was saying.

I live in a mixed Black and Hispanic community and I can tell you first hand that calling little black children monkeys is their first insult of choice!

They even have their kids calling our kids monkeys. I had a similar encounter with a family of Mexicans when my kids and I were visiting with a friend. Our kids were in HER back yard playing with a nurf football and accidentally sent it flying over the fence to her neighbors yard.

The kids ran around to the neighbors yard to retrieve the ball when some old Mexican guy comes ambling out the back door screaming and yelling all kinds of racist insults at the children calling them monkeys and telling them to stay out of his yard etc...

Now rightfully so, he was angry about the kids bum rushing his yard but he had no business speaking at them the way he did.

My friend and I went running strait over to put him in his place. Then the whole family comes out yelling and screaming obscenities and we give back just as good or better and before we knew it tempers were flaring out of control!

Long story short I offered one of the mamacita's to come say some ish to my face (planning to knock her arse off soon as she got within striking distance) But she stayed her skinty butt on the porch my friend had to drag me from the yard I was getting so heated.

To this day the feud continues......

Well couldnt she had say" tarzan and jane" why they got to be monkeys. I remember me, my sister, my niece, and brother inlaw went to a Ihop in vegas and this old white lady who worked there as a seater had said to my niece "Oh isnt she as cute as a monkey" we were like wtf and my brother inlaw asked her why she used such a term and he told her azz off me and my sister said good maybe she'll never referr to any other minorities child as a monkey that's messed up.

I just wanted to respond to oracle, that is exactly my point, you can't claim someone is racist while making racist generalizations yourself.

Your experiance with a hispanic knucklehead doesn't make all hispanics knuckleheads, if you assume that is the case, you deserve the racist treatment you get.

i think firing him is over the top...obviously the comparison was due to the fact that the children were playing around in a tree. had they been white and he made this comment no issue would have been made. Its ridiculous that people cannot use their brains to realize that these comments had nothing to do with race. i work in a dental office and have posters of monkeys flossing and i often tease the kids and tell them they look like the monkeys as a joke. i had a black child in my chair once and came very close to making this comment because it is one most of the kids find silly but i held back for fear of my comments being taken the wrong way...isn't that sad that a harmless comment cannot be made in today's society without being taken out of proportion and context? Over analyzing these types of comments without seeing them for what they really, simply are is a trajedy and will continue to fuel the racial divide. This divide seems to be fueled by an over reactive and over sensitive population of people who need to be more objective rather than bias. Same swing can be taken at obama's pastor who's church obama will continue to attend because he did not witness his pastor's comments first hand...what about his delegate? i am sure he did not hear his words first hand yet he still fired him and his pastor's words are arguably more offensive because they are a direct insult intended to target a population of people in a negative way...consider that

See stuff like that ain't always as obvious as it seems. ost people only have one perspective, theirs. There are others like me and every other black person on the planet that have at minimum 2. We have to see stuff how white folks see it and how we see it as black people. Not doing so can get you killed and if not killed hurt. Why the hell you think "its a black thing you wouldn't understand went over so big?

why can't you tell anyone to get out of your yard... just because niggers cant afford yards; much less yards with trees shouldn't mean that if someone tells a nig to get out of their yard, they should be punished... nigger, nigger, nigger

I am a black young lady and I feel in no way that the lady was racist. I believe that racism exists, but society is starting to go overboard with being "politically correct" about how things are said. You can't say monkey because someone will be offended. I personally could care less whether a black person said something or if a white person said it. If you would be offended by a white person saying something, then be offended by a black person saying the same thing. What difference does it make??!!Some people are WAY too sensitive.
